Alison Redford
Alison Redford was born and raised in Calgary, where she currently lives with her husband and daughter. She was elected MLA for the constituency of Calgary-Elbow on March 3, 2008 and remains excited to represent a vibrant and diverse urban community.

On March 13, 2008 Alison was named Minister of Justice and Attorney General by Premier Stelmach. In this role the Premier has asked Alison, in addition to other duties, to be responsible for the promotion of strong and vibrant communities, the reduction of crime for a safer Alberta, and enhancing the capacity of the prosecution service to effectively prosecute serious and violent crime, in part, by adding prosecution and support staff.
Alison's previous work has included assignments all over the world. She served as senior policy advisor to the Right Honorable Joe Clark. She was appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations as one of four international election commissioners to administer Afghanistan's first parliamentary elections, held in September 2005. Before her most current post Alison managed a judicial training and legal reform project for the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Peoples Court in Vietnam.

Alison is an active member and past member of many community boards. She encourages all constituents to engage with their own local associations and organizations.
